The Rooftop Wine & Cheese

This weekend we hosted a wine & cheese party on our roof. We have a large, flat, walled roof and it's really a pleasant place to be in the evening, like a patio. It almost makes up for the fact that we don't have a yard.

Everyone brought cheeses, appetizers or desserts, and lots of wine & beer. The party was a great success; many guests lingered after midnight just talking and laughing. The kids couldn't resist sneaking up to try the food, and listened to all the conversations with rapt attention. They convinced a few people to come down and play Lego Rock Band with them, and stayed up far past their bedtimes!

Our guests agreed we'll have to do it again, so we're planning another one in March, when Aaron's parents will be HERE!!

I took these pictures before it got dark, so you don't see the full effect of the holiday lights
and the candles (ambience is important), but you get the idea.

The first of our guests gathered under the gazebo/roof thing (I never know what to call it!)
I did not take any good pictures after that; too busy running up & downstairs and talking my head off.

Those pillows we made in Tunisia look great, Julie!! Nice place for a party. The couches -- courtesy of GSO?

I was going to say the same thing about the pillows. Who knew when you made those they would make a journey to another land? Mom and Dad are going to have a blast at your next party!
