Last night, we enjoyed an evening the ambassador's garden celebrating the 235th birthday of the US Marine Corps. The evening began with a cocktail hour, followed by an excellent program ("March on the cake!" is Aaron's favorite line.) Dinner and dancing and LOTS of picture taking followed.

Our detachment commander, his wife Amanda, and three of our Marines, Corporal Soper, Sergeant Wilson, Corporal Kristopik. I know they have first names but can never remember what they are.

One table, with a black cloth, is always set in honor of the POW/MIA Marines.

The ambassador's yard looked quite festive.

March on the cake! It's a strange but moving tradition.

Aaron's colleague is finally here! Jim and his wife, Norie

of the Ball and was very satisfied with the results.

Poor Genia was trying to get a good picture with the Marines but gave up!
They're a rowdy bunch.

Quite a change from our stiff and formal photos at the Tunis Marine Ball.
Corporal Soper (right) is holding Aaron's new colleague, Jim (the poor guy
just got here 3 days before and had no idea what to expect)

Trying again to get a serious picture with the Marines.

Getting the dancing started.

The dance floor was kind of small, but full

Just tired of smiling.
